Please join ASPE, INACSL, and SSH to examine Impostor Phenomena, reflect on beliefs that may hinder our success, and identify useful strategies and available resources to reach leadership goals and potential.

2023 Women in Leadership Symposium Objectives:

  • Increase awareness & knowledge of Imposter Syndrome versus Impostor Phenomenon.
  • Self-reflect on one’s own beliefs and actions.
  • Identify strategies to mitigate Impostor Phenomenon.
  • Discuss personal strategies to enhance matching inner and outer beliefs and actions.

Women in Leadership Symposium Background

The Women in Leadership (WIL) Symposium was created to bring together curious and aspiring, new, and experienced leaders in healthcare simulation. The challenges and opportunities for female healthcare simulation professionals include the development of leadership skills in all professional sectors (clinicians of all stripes, operations specialists, engineers, educators, administrators, and industry) in environments that often lack built-in resources and networks in their professional development.

Accreditation Statement

In support of improving patient care, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive a maximum of 4 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) Credits for learning and change.

Interprofessional Continuing Education (ICPE) Mission Statement

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) will deliver professional development opportunities for interprofessional healthcare teams working to improve the practice of healthcare through simulation-based education. This mission will be accomplished through the provision of interprofessional continuing education (IPCE) activities designed to improve both individual and team performance in simulation.
