Professional Development

ASPE was created out of the need for educators to network, share ideas and become even better at what they do. The Annual Conference provides an outstanding forum for these activities, but ASPE provides other opportunities for professional development year round. ASPE awards grants annually to help members further their scholarship and holds webinars throughout the year for the membership. Those who join committees also have the opportunity to work and share ideas all year long with colleagues around the world. For those new to the field, ASPE offers a mentoring program that pairs new educators with more experienced ones at the annual conference and throughout the year. Another form of mentoring takes place for members who participate in the scholars certificate program. An experienced SP educator works with the participant to prepare a scholarly project for presentation. Plus, ASPE recognizes those educators who have done outstanding work in the field with the prestigious ASPE Educator Award.
