Bragging Points:

• Our simulation program is provisionally accredited through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Full accreditation is being pursued for 2019.
• Our simulation center houses a unique learning environment titled the Simulation Studio. See more in “Additional Information” below.
• All pre-licensure simulations within the CON-CBU IPE-LRC are developed by following the INACSL best practice design standards, and where appropriate, standards of best practice as developed by ASPE and SSH. Additionally a simulation advisory board peer reviews all new simulations for content and authenticity.

Additional Information About Your Center

Our simulation center is modeled after a box theater and a production studio. The center includes state-of-the-art roll-down projection screens on three of the walls, meant to surround the simulation participant with the pre-determined environment, ceiling-mounted top-of-the-line projectors that display HD images on the screens, and state-of-the-art surround sound speakers that create a truly immersive surround sound experience, similar to that found at an Imax theater. It also includes a pipe grid, from which hangs a system of theater lighting, creating an illusion of various lighting settings around the world. The entire room is painted black and voided of all outside lighting, allowing the room to truly be a totally immersive experience where all parameters of visual experience are controlled. Fog and smoke machines are used to provide various special effects and to simulate various environmental moods, such as that of a rainforest or a burning car. A large double door opening in the back of the room provides access to allow large props, such as a car to enter into the room for use in a car accident simulation or disaster preparedness scenario.
