CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – Member-At-Large

The ASPE Board of Directors is pleased to announce the opening of the call for nominations for the position of Member at Large. A description of the duties of the Member at Large position is posted on the ASPE website www.aspeducators.org.

Per Article VI, Section 6 of ASPE Bylaws, candidates for Member at Large are drawn from two sources:

  1. The Nominating Committee
  2. ASPE membership - members can nominate themselves or other ASPE members in good standing.  Members who nominate themselves or other members, will do so in writing (email is acceptable).  The nominating letter will contain the following information.
    1. Name
    2. Short bio of nominee highlighting commitment to the ASPE mission and previous experience in ASPE or other professional organizations that support the work of ASPE.  (limit 250 words
    3. Letter of interest - what abilities, skills sets or vision they bring to the position.
    4. Indication of support from home institution- a letter or statement indicating support. 
    5. 15 emails/letters/signatures from ASPE members in good standing supporting the nomination.

All nominations and supporting documentation should be sent to cospolich@aspeducators.org and must be received by Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 5:00 pm CT.

An email will be sent to all members announcing the opening of the balloting, which will begin on the ASPE website beginning Friday, August 31 and will close Friday, September 14, 5:00 pm CT. The election will be decided by a simple majority of members voting. The results of the election will be posted to the website Friday, September 28.

We encourage all members to consider nominating a candidate (including yourself) for this important role in the ASPE organization. Thank you for your time and participation in this election process.
